Awesome Tea [Day 7, Late Morning, The Jade Sun]

[Akodo Jishaku]

Given the plan that was in motion would most likely take place that night, Akodo Jishaku realised that it was time for a get together with some of his favourite people. Life in the Legion was great, but sometimes you needed to consult with your clanmates. So it was that he had left notes for each of his Lion brothers, indicating that he would be taking tea at the Jade Sun in the Late Morning.

Finding himself first to arrive Cub made sure that they had an acceptable location and ordered some tea from their homeland as he waited for the others to arrive.

(Open to all, but expect there to be plenty of Lion in this thread )

[Akodo Amuro]

Amuro bowed to the man as he entered giving the non rokugani occupants a wary look before moving away from them and toward his clanmate.

[Akodo Jishaku]

Jishaku rose and gave Amuro a bow, gesturing for him to take a seat. "Amuro-san, it is good to see you again. I took the liberty of ordering some tea for us. A blend from home, I thought it suitable."

[Akodo Amuro]

A blend from home? he raises an eyebrow. Must have been hard to find.

[Akodo Jishaku]

"Luck really. They have a good selection and I knew what I wanted." He grins. "Besides, we like the stronger blends that offend the delicate palate of those who never spent a cold night on watch. I doubt this one is ordered often, much to our benefit."

[Akodo Amuro]

Very. the Akodo takes a seat near Jishaku. You have been selected as an advisory to Uminushi-taisa. I have not congratulated you on that honor.

[Akodo Jishaku]

The younger Lion nods. "It is a great honour Amuro-san, especially for a new recruit. I can but do my best to give him sound advice."

[Ikoma Hikaru]

Hikaru appears a few moments later and bows low.

"Please forgive this ones tardiness. I got caught up practicing and did not realize what time it was."

[Akodo Jishaku]

Jishaku stands and bows to the Ikoma with a smile. "Not at all Ikoma-sama, it is a pleasure to see you again. I have taken the liberty of ordering a blend from Lion lands." He waits for the other man to sit before taking his seat again.

[Ikoma Hikaru]

Hikaru sits and says.

"Thank you Akodo-san. A taste of home will be quite nice."

[Akodo Jishaku]

As the Lion take their seats once more the tea arrives and the delightful smell of Black Needle Tea filled their nostrils. It was a smell that Amuro probably knew rather well, it was strong and bitter, regarded by most as a soldier's tea. Jishaku nodded his thanks.

"So, my fellow Lion in a strange land, what do you make of this place?"

[Akodo Amuro]

"I do not care for it or its people. And from what I have observed, I care less for its ruling class or their ability to govern."

[Akodo Jishaku]

Jishaku gives Amuro a wry smile and lowers his voice. "They have a copy of Leadership in their library Amuro-san. A shame they didn't bother to read it, neh?" His smile fades. "If they had they might not be so close to destruction. I expect we will be leaving shortly to send word home of this approaching darkness."

[Ikoma Hikaru]

Hikaru shrugs and says coldly.

"I could care less about the city."

[Akodo Amuro]

I heard some of the refugees talk, translated of course, about what happened to their cities The Lion recounts then takes a sip of his tea. They say what attacks them is not human, and by the rumors of..., please excuse the crude topic Ikoma-san, ...maho from this House Rafiq I am not fully certain what to make of it.

[Ikoma Hikaru]

"If this house is practicing the dark arts, it should be destroyed. What protects them? Are they a noble family?" Hikaru says sipping his tea.

[Akodo Jishaku]

Jishaku's nose wrinkles slightly as he replies. "Fear, from what I've seen of them. They know an enemy ship is in their harbour and they have done nothing about it." He shakes his head in disgust. "Yes, they were a noble family of this place, although the way the Captain described it they are viewed the same way we would view a tsukai. Which makes their lack of action even more disturbing."

[Akodo Amuro]

That it does. So the question is, what are we to do about it? Have you heard anything that would make us think the pose a threat to our empire?

[Ikoma Hikaru]

Hikaru frowns slightly. In his opinion this "noble house" should be wiped out. However that was not is call to make.

[Akodo Jishaku]

Jishaku thinks about this for a few moments. "From what I read in the palace library they are the same foe the Mantis fought during the War of Spirits. Nothing I have read suggests they have interests outside of this land. However the specific group present in the harbour should be dealt with in my opinion. They may well wish to stop us from leaving."
