Exploration 101. [Day 4 Mid Afternoon Moint Mainaka Open]

[Yoritomo Kaito]

Information they were supposed to be looking for information and where did you find Information? The Markets of course! In his walk earlier in the day the young Mantis had spotted a building seeming to house what was left of the cities open vendors and he intended to investigate. Half because he figured most of the other samurai wouldn't want to go there and half because he himself wanted to see what kind of odd things Gaijin might be peddling.

Approach the warehouse he notices the large number of guards and slows his steps as he approaches the entrance wondering if he can gain entrance.

[Bayushi Kichirou]

Never having been to a gaijin city before Kichirou was quite lost. He wasn't even really sure where he needed to be going but the sight of the Mantis making his way towards the massive warehouse that was Mount Mainaka drew his attention. Even without speaking the language the Scorpion could feel the fear in the people, see it in their faces. Hoping Kaito had better instincts than he did about where to go he pushed his way through the bustling crowd and came to the Mantis' side.

"Yoritomo-san, its good to see a friendly face in all this crowd." he offers his relieved smile genuine but quickly fading as he counts the guards outside the warehouse, "They look....serious."

[Yoritomo Kaito]

Kaito turns towards the the voice as the scorpion speaks. "Ah Afternoon Bayushi-san." He replied his eyes glancing over towards the guards. "They do at that don't likely because it seems there are a fair number of refugees in this town and I figure that's one of teh last places you can actually but things here."

[Bayushi Kichirou]

"A fair assessment. Do you have a heimin with you? I do not speak this language they use and I think this, of all possible situations, is one in which I would like to avoid conflict."

[Yoritomo Kaito]

"A Heimen? Well I think so Captain told me to bring one after all. Maybe I lost 'em though" Replies Kaito as he glances around for the peasant in question. "Course it could be maybe they lost me but I figure it would be kinda hard with all the green I'm wearing."

"You're right though we should likely find one before we try to go in."

[Bayushi Nobuyoshi]

As it so happens there is a heimen walking along. Well, following another Scorpion as he makes his way to the marketplace. Spotting his fellow Rokugani (The Scorpion, not the heimen) Nobuyoshi approaches and offers them a bow.

"Good afternoon, Yoritomo-san, Bayushi-san." he offers, his voice low but still audible over the marketplace hubbub. "I'd wondered when I'd see you again Bayushi-san. Once you got assigned to below decks it was like you were on another ship."

[Yoritomo Kaito]

For a moment Kaito wondered what he had done wrong to be surrounded by scorpion but let the thoughts quickly pass and bowed politely to the new arrival. "Afternoon Bayushi-san."

[elonweis]

A girl, of about nine, comes pelting out of the crowd and comes to a halt by the Yoritomo. She bends over and pants a bit to catch her breath. Darn those samurai and their long legs and those kittens for being extra super cute and huggable. The man trailing Nobuyoshi looks slightly concerned and moves to pat the girl on the back.

[Yoritomo Kaito]

As the young girl appears out of the crowd the Yoritomo smiled and separated himself from the chatting scorpions for a moment. "Sorry, lass looks like I left ya behind didn't I."

"Why don't you take a little bit a few moments to catch your breath while I ask this gentlemen if we're allowed this shopping center." He replied glancing at the other Heimen.

[elonweis]

The man bows and murmurs, "It is allowed for us to enter, Yoritomo-sama, as long as we make no trouble and you are willing to leave behind your weapons."

[Yoritomo Kaito]

he frowns slightly at that and glances at the scorpions fro a moment. "That could possibly be arranged but I fear we would need someone to watch over our daisho's and to make sure no one touches them."

[elonweis]

"Either of us could, if that is what you wish," the man replies readily enough. The request didn't seem to bother or surprise him as the girl finally caught her breath. She blinks a bit and looks between Kaito and her elder, mouth opening to say something before the heimen clapped a gentle hand on her shoulder to still her protests.

[Yoritomo Kaito]

Kaito was somewhat curious as to what the young girl had said but decided not to counteract the older mans action and nodded turning towards the pair of scorpion. "Would that be agreeable to you Bayushi-san's?"

[Bayushi Kichirou]

Kichirou smiled that open smile of his, "If the trip so far has taught me nothing else it is to not rely upon my daisho. I'm sure we can trust our friends here to keep our weapons safe as we take a look around." he says looking to his fellow Scorpion, "What say you cousin?"

[Bayushi Nobuyoshi]

Nobuyoshi shrugs.

"I'm sure the embassy properly instructs it's translators on the significance of the daisho, and what would happen were one to disappear." he says in his normal flat tone.

An appraising glance at the translators.

"If we're not willing to rely on the embassy, we may as well have stayed on the boat, for as much we'll learn." he says.

[elonweis]

The man frowns faintly, but says nothing in regards to the Scorpion's slight against the Mantis. He looks down at the girl, murmuring quietly, "Chibi-chan, you go with them. I will stay."

[Yoritomo Kaito]

Kaito just ignored the slight seeming not to notice as he turned towards the bazaar once again. "Alright then Chibi-san." He addressed the little girl. "Lead the way so we can go see what this bazaar is all about."

[elonweis]

"But you still have your kama, Yoritomo-sama," the girl points out, bright as brass.

[Bayushi Kichirou]

"The girl has you their Yoritomo-san." Kichirou says with a laugh even as he unfastens his daisho and hands them to the man with as reassuring a smile as you can expect from a Scorpion.

[Yoritomo Kaito]

"Kama aren't weapon's they are tool's lass." Replied the Yoritomo with a wink. "But I suppose I should likely give them up as well." He replied as he relieved himself of the kama. He was still trained in jujitsu anyways.
