Qulan walked about the streets with a curious expression. She'd never been in another country before. Not even the Burning Sands! And this one... Well, she found quite fascinating. She had only heard stories of the far off Gaijin lands!

Hikaru, clad in a regal brown and gold kimono with a scene of lions on plains on the back, catches up to Qulan. He has his wakizashi tucked into his obi, his prayer beads in his hand.

"Excuse me Shinjo-san, I was wondering if I could accompany you into the city? The Captain make it quite clear I was not to venture by myself and all of my clansmen are predisposed at the moment." Hikaru says with a bow.

One of the servants from the Embassy follows in the Lion's wake. Tall, a bit brawny, and with an ugly scar twisting across his face, he looked a bit intimidating but seemed at ease with his surroundings.

Qulan turned around to see the Ikoma and bowed. "Of course, Ikoma-sama, I'd be delighted to have you walk with me."

The Shinjo, however, was obviously a bushi. "This is all so new. Very fascinating. I bet this is how my earliest ancestors felt when they stepped into the Burning Sands. To think I'm one of the very few Unicorn to reach here by boat..."

"Thank you Shinjo-san. I do not think we have actually be introduced. I am Ikoma Hikaru, cousin of Ikoma Haigo. And yes it is very exciting to see the city. There is a good chance I am one of the first Lion to be here." Hikrau says. While his words are polite they hold there customary coldness displayed with most people.

"Oh! It is an honor to meet you, Ikoma-sama. I am Shinjo Qulan." She said with another bow. Curiosity still filled her eyes as she looked around. "So many surprises on the ship alone, I didn't know I'd end up in Gaijin lands when I found out I had been accepted into the Legions."

Hikaru nods and says

"Hai, a year ago I would never have thought I would be in a situation like this. So, if it is not to forward of me to ask, how did you find your way into the legion? "

"I'm actually not sure myself..." Qulan shrugged. "I think a friend of my father's put in a good word for me."

"You are happy to be here though? In the legion I mean?" Hikaru says. It was an odd question from an odd Lion.

"Surprisingly so, actually. It's so..." The Unicorn paused to find an appropriate word. "New. I also don't ever get seasick, so... There's no downside other than feeling cramped inside the ship. But my duties take me up deck, where I can feel the wind."

Hikaru nods as he listen's to the Unicorn.

"And what is your impressions of the crew Shinjo-san?"

"I rather enjoy them." The Unicorn was being honest, she did enjoy their company. "Though, I've honestly only spoken to a few in a personal, non-duty related manner."

"Who have you spoken with, if I might ask?" Qulan asked curiously.

"I have spoken with most of the crew members at least in passing I believe. Most notably my kinsmen and Asahina Narumi. I have been told my demeanor is somewhat cold and standoffish. There for I have not had very many long conversations since arriving." Hikaru says coldly, illustrating his point as he watches the others on the street as they pass by.

Whether it was the brute trailing behind them or their oddness, most of the people seem to give the samurai a wide berth. The younger ones, the children, too young to know better stare and point with open curiosity.

Hikaru actually smiles slightly at the children. However stays silent on the subject.

Qulan, too, smiled at the young children as they passed. "Well, I have spoken with a few of our crew. One of my kind, a couple of Crab..."

"I am supprised there are as many of the Unicorn as there is. I would not think the ocean would be your first choice." the Ikoma says. After a second he adds. "I suppose the same could be said of the Lion however."

"Well, three isn't that much, is it? But I guess you are correct..." The Shinjo nodded. "I miss my horse."
