Knowing what was ahead of them, and not one to miss a good gaijin-slaying, Akodo Jishaku made his way to the armoury to check and double-check all his equipment was in order. Finding the place empty he gathered his yumi, arrows, daisho and tanto and began by oiling his katana.
Cub hummed an old Lion marching song to himself, somewhat inelegantly...well actually quite badly,as he worked.

Before going back on land (to check out the library, which she has been meaning to do), she entered the armory for a bit of practice. Seeing the Lion, Qulan bowed politely. "Good morning, Akodo-sama."

The humming immediately stopped, thankfully, and Jishaku offered the Unicorn a polite bow of his own along with one of his characteristic smiles. "Good morning Shinjo-sama. How does the day find you?"

"Oh, I'm fine, Akodo-sama. How about you?" She asked, smile on her face.

"Never a dull moment. Just making sure everything is in working order." He continues to oil his blades as they speak. "Have you seen many strange sights in Lanka? There seems to be something new and unusual at every turn."

Qulan nodded happily. "The architecture... Is very different. And interesting. All so new."

"Hai, and you should see the palace. Quite gaudy. Although I did find a copy of Leadership in their library." He pauses to carefully inspect his work, looking down the edge of his blade before moving on to work on the wakizashi. "It is good to be aboard again. It feels like I have been on land too long."

"Being on land is quite nice, though. Proper baths and all." Qulan carefully watched him with her curious expression. "I'll miss them. The baths."

The Cub grins at that. "You'll hear no argument from me, about the baths that is. Though I still prefer being on the ship when all is said and done." He looks up at her with his sharp eyes. "That first bath after stepping back onto dry land. That was spectacular." The smile remains as he returns to his polishing.

She nodded. "Hai, it was great. I could feel my muscles relaxing as I soaked. The salt rinsing away."

"A glorious feeling. Still, it will feel just as good next time we bathe after a long time at sea. I'd much rather be there right now. At sea that is." He finishes cleaning his wakizashi and moves on to the tanto.

She nodded. "Ah, hai. It will also make us appreciate the things we took for granted back on land."
