[Day 1, Mid Afternoon, Open] Time to Make the Arrows

Slipping his way into the Armory, Bayushi Kichirou placed his bokken on a stand and made his way to the rack of bows that stood opposite it. Looking beside it he took out some of the materials he'd need to begin his appointed task.
Setting himself down the Scorpion sets to work. If making arrows and maintaining what bows needed maintenance was his appointed task he would do it.

Bayushi Usan lightly rapped his knuckles on the doorway to the armory, announcing his presence to the bushi before he made his introductory bow. "Good afternoon Bayushi-san, I hope I'm not intruding too much, but I noticed your name on the duty roster and thought I'd make a quick introduction before your shift started."
He bowed again, taking note of what Kichirou was working on "I am Bayushi Usan. It's a pleasure to meet you. I have to say I'm quite pleasantly surprised to find another bowyer on the ship. I work the morning shift, myself.'

"Ah, so this must be your work." Kichirou says with a smile and returning the bow as he moves a basket of arrows to the side.
"I will admit a mild level of surprise at having so many of my Clan on this ship. I had expected to be most alone honestly. I'm glad I was found incorrect in that assumption." he offers with a grin before beginning to work though as a bowyer himself Usan was probably away it required little use of ones mouth so conversation was still possible.

Usan nods, his mask hiding his own grin, "Well, it took me awhile to get my sea legs so I haven't had a chance to meet the others yet. Have you met the rest of our Clan on this boat?"

"I have. I expect you will too before long." he says as he taps his eyepatch/mask, "its not like we're hard to spot."

Amusement crept into Usan's voice, 'True, true.' He leaned on the doorway, relaxing a bit. "Well, since we both cover the same tasks, please, do not hesitate ask for me to cover your shift should you have need."
Usan eyed the armory racks, "Perhaps we should set aside a small box for our tools, so we at least know they're organized properly." It certainly would be a decent spot to slip messages, if needed. he thought. "At the least, do let me know how you'd prefer your workspace arrangements."

Off-duty now, Seiko wandered down to the armory in the hopes that there might be a practice weapon she could borrow. Of course, there was not, but at this point in time, she did not know that, just as she did not realize that there would be two Scorpions there making conversation.
She paused before the doorway to the armory and behind Usan. To announce herself, she scratched at the wood (well) behind him and gave a low bow.
"My apologies for interrupting," she said, her eyes remaining slightly unfocused.

Usan looked over his shoulder, then quickly stepped aside for Seiko, turning around to give her a bow. "Forgive me, I did not mean to be in the way. I am Bayushi Usan, pleasure to meet you."

"Greetings Crab-san." Kichirou offers with a bow even from his seated position. Setting back to work the Scorpion leaves the other two samurai to any discussion they might which to have, he had a job to do after all and it wouldn't do to be caught slacking off on the his first day on the assignment.

"Iie, it is I who should apologize for interrupting your discussion. This one is Kaiu Seiko, and I sought only to procure a practice weapon. Then I shall be on my way."
She bowed again, this time just to Usan.
"Regardless, it is a pleasure to met you, Bayushi-san."

Usan nodded. He mentally debated whether or not he should enquire about practice weapons. On the one hand, it was something to do. On the other, it was time spent for no real benefit. Ah well, should the topic come up elsewhere, I'll ask about it, he thought.
"Just a bokken? Or something else?" he asked, curious.

Seiko looked down for a moment so Usan wouldn't see the slight blush that she was sure came to her face just then.
"Iie. I was hoping for a practice spear... maybe even a bow and practice arrows."
She glanced up to see if she could see past the Scorpion into the armory.
"You... wouldn't have happened to have seen any... would you?"

"Well, I haven't had a chance to check the cargo holds, but I gather between Bayushi-San and myself, there will be enough practice arrows in no time. Should the Captain wish it of course." He tilted his head, studying Seiko a bit. "As for a practice weapon, you'd have to ask the Quartermaster. I simple can't presume to encroach on his duties on keeping everyone supplied." His voice had a light chuckle to it as he said, "After all, I tend to presume too much already."

"It seems that I will have to seek out the Quartermaster then. I apologize for taking your time, Bayushi-san."
Seiko bowed again, apparently getting ready to depart.

"Oh no apology necessary, Kaiu-san. It was nice meeting you." He bowed again, before she left.

Usan turned around and bowed to the other Bayushi. 'Well, I've taken up enough of your time, it was nice meeting you Bayushi-san.'

"Nice meeting you as well Bayushi-san." Kichirou returns with a mildly repressed chuckle. "Tomorrow I think I should come by in the morning. We can arrange a cooperative work area then to save space and make both our lives generally more efficient." he offers proving that even he hadn't picked up on the other Scorpion's earlier innuendo he at least though along the same patterns.

Usan perked up a bit at that offer, "Excellent, I look forward to the morning then. Well, I shouldn't be in your way any longer. I've prattled too much as it is. It was nice meeting you Bayushi-san. Thank you so much for indulging me." He bowed again, "Should you have need of me, well, I should be rather easy to find."

"Indeed Bayushi-san. In the morning then." he says with a nod before setting himself back to work selecting arrow heads for shafts.
