[Moon 16, Afternoon, Open] Needs less Crusher, more McCoy

The first day of real Medical duty for Daidoji Fuichi slumped into being. He was chipper, particularly since the Air kami had decided to give him the time of day instead of a case history of terribly cannibalistic rituals. Humming quietly to himself, he cracked open his breviary and...waited.

The small Phoenix comes in shortly after the Lion, murmuring a small apology and greeting. With her is a basket, and she sets it atop one of the tables while trying to make sure she stays mostly out of the way of the other two.

The Akodo simply flexes his hand as he waits. It was a bit stiff.

Seeing as the Daidoji looks a little preoccupied, Nozomi bows to the Lion. "Konnichiw-wa, Akodo-san. May..." She pauses for only a moment, trying to decide the best way to phrase it, "May we help y-you?"

If it is not a burden on resources. he says simply showing his hand. Bit of rope burn and blistering, I am not yet accustomed to the work. he said simply. Something I know will pass with time. But only the young and fools, suffer needlessly in pride.

The Daidoji looks up. "Blisters? We have a cream for that, I think."

He slips over to one of the cabinets and passes a thin bottle from inside to the Akodo. "Rub it on gently, Akodo-san, and they should stop being so irritating. I haven't anything to kill the pain weak enough to handle this without causing more problems, but that should do you fine."

He smiled pleasantly.

Nozomi steps back, a small smile quirking at the edges of her lips. The Akodo seemed to be in good hands, so far, and Nozomi returns to her basket, pulling out her spare shirt and a patch. Small hand slide the patch around on the front of the shirt, trying to find the right spot for it to go.

Sticking a pin gently into the shirt to hold the patch in place, Nozomi looks up. "You m-may want to w-wrap your hands for a while until the cu-callouses build up p-properly, too."

"Hai, mostly ab-aboard Phoenix vu-vessels... although..." She looks over at the Crane thoughtfully, trying to remember if he'd said anything to that effect in her presence "I have never served with Daidoji-san b-before."

Inwardly the Akodo wondered why she stuttered so, but did not wish to be impolite by asking about it. Instead he turned his attention to the Crane for his response.

He inclined his head. "Not as such. My family has always been very much involved in the Daidoji fleet, so I grew up around ships, but my gift diverted my course somewhat."

He met the Akodo's eyes with a thoughtful expression. "Yourself?"

First time serving. he said simply. My experience has mostly been with infantry in my fourteen years since my gempukku.

Fuichi nodded to show comprehension.
"Ah, the infantry. So you were involved in the recent troubles with the Unicorn?"

The Akodo's face darkened somewhat. "A very polite way of putting it, yes Daidoji-san. You could say I am intimately familiar with several troubles with the children of Shinjo."

Fuichi smiled sadly.
"My sister was at Toshi Ranbo. I should like to thank you for your defense of the city. Without the Akodo, there would have been many others lost."

"I am sorry for your loss, Daidoji-san. I too lost kin in the final day of the that battle." the Lion said solemnly "The Crane did their part as well. I am grateful, for such allies in such trying times.

"I shall remember your family in my prayers." It's said with the confidence of one who knows that such things do some good, somehow.

"If it is not too personal a question, may I ask what brought about your change in careers? Fourteen years seems a long time for a sudden change."
