Having just gotten off his shift, Kakita Sugita agrees. He gets 'in line' with Amuro. "Konbanwa. Time to replace all that sweat and tears, eh?"

Tears? I suppose for a Crane any actual work would cause them to cry long enough to exhaust themselves. Poor baby must be all tuckered out. he wanted to say, instead Tears Kakita-san? were the words that came from the Akodo's mouth.

Amuro's opinions were probably about to go even further as the effeminate Phoenix wandered in, book already open in hand now that he had a schedule and knew he'd only be needed in an emergency. Thus he didn't notice the other two until he'd reached the food 'queue'.

That wet stuff that comes from your eyes, is what Sugita wants to say.

So he does. "That wet stuff that comes from your eyes."

The samurai arrived to a meal that was already completed. Plates and cups sat at each long table for the samurai to sit at and at the end of the galley, by the kitchen, Supaisu stood near two larger pots and several smaller tea pots. As each samurai entered she bowed to them and waited for them to approach for their serving of the evening.

Is that what those are? It has been far to long since I had noticed them. the Lion replied with a hint of humor in his eyes. After all if you couldn't, in good nature, poke fun at a Crane as crude as this one portrayed himself to be, then he was uncertain what was right on this vessel. "Please. Join me for food. I think I might enjoy your insight on many topics

He noticed the effeminate Phoenix, who wouldn't. "Good evening Agasha-san. Would you care to join us as well. Kakita-san here was just telling me about what tears were. I am sure the Phoenix have thoughts on this topic as well?"

The jab, if anything, makes Sugita even more jovial. "Absolutely, Agasha-san. My courageous Lion companion suffers a lack of understanding ironically caused by the same virtue with which I praised him."

Qian-Fan's eyes came up from his book to look at the two samurai in front of him. A polite bow as he grudgingly closed the book and tucked it behind his belt, as he did not have his usual sleeves to contain it.

"Akodo-sama, Kakita-san. The Phoenix has some knowledge of tears shed in compassion at the actions of others, if that was what you meant?"

"Truthfully, no. I was only using a figure of speech when I mentioned tears, but that is all in the past, ne?" Sugita replies with a helpless shrug.

The Akodo smiled politely at the Phoenix. Taking his food and finding a seat making sure there was room for his companions to sit as well. Still I welcome your company this evening, if you can put up with an Crane and a Lion as we attempt to match wits over the battlefield of dinner. You are of course more than welcome." his smile became good more jovial as the Crane responded.

Supaisu dutifully handed out the food without her usual warm greeting to each man as he passed and was careful to avoid eye contact. The portions themselves were somewhat smaller than they were used to on land, but they had been the entire trip so far.

"Would not be the first time one of my clan has attempted to keep the peace between the Crane and Lion."

He collected his food with a smile and a quiet word of thanks to Supaisu, before joining them.

The big Hida now known as Ram comes in ducking his head a little and eying the offering like a starving wildebeast.

Zenko arrived not long after the Crab, eager to have a meal, although not quite as hungry as the wild beast of a Crab. He gathers up a plate on the way.

He smiles to the cook. "Oh! And how'd you make this? Its a different recipe than I've ever made, just from the smell of it!" He has his own tea cup, but uses the plates provided.

The cook is careful to keep her head down and her eyes away from the Usagi. Much more demure than the older woman usually was. "It is just fish with some special herbs in the right proportions, Usagi-sama."

The big man accepts his ration, looking remorsefully at the pot, and his bowl.

He sits down and eats his ration of stew in about 3 bites before staring sadly at the empty bowl.

He nods at this. "Oh?" He smiles. "I read this morning that part of my duties may be assisting with cooking. If there is room for me in the morning, when should I be ready to assist in getting meals ready?"

He nods to the pots. "I'm Usagi Zenko, by the way. I'm no expert in seafood, but if you'll have me, I'll be happy to have a skilled sensei teach me the ways of shipboard cooking."

He balances his plate in one hand, and his tea cup in the other. "I brought a few bottles of spices from Usagi lands, and I'll sacrifice one of them for not showing my face this morning to help with breakfast or lunch."
