The hold of the ship is the domain of Isawa O-Washi, quartermaster of the Half Moon. A large supply of crates of assorted size are organized by content throughout in orderly rows and stacks, though the means of organization is one that takes several hours of exposure to work out. Food, water, and the tools and materials for repairs take up the vast majority of the supplies, though there are a few unmarked crates here and there about which the young Gunso is a bit...cagey.
Each member of the crew is alotted their own storage space for personal items that don't fold into a seachest in the forepart of the ship's hold, thus keeping the clutter out of the crew's quarters. Any such belongings are dutifully cataloged by the Isawa but otherwise left unlisted and the crates unmarked, making any attempts at theft or mischief that much more difficult.
The hold, from fore to aft, encompasses a span of 80 feet by fifteen feet, subdivided into a few distinct sub-regions more by purpose than any construction. One section is reserved for the non-samurai members of the crew to sleep in and most spend their time there when not busy at their tasks, leaving the more pleasant upper deck to their betters.
At the fore, where water is piped down from a catchment behind the Topside cabin, are the bathing and toilet facilities, designed to drain directly into the bilge. Fresh water is at a premium and bathing is restricted accordingly, though shugenja can do their part to ease the burden by making a successful Summon (water) with two raises (to convince the kami to remain long enough after the spell to be useful) once per time slot.
