{{Open, just don't expect to be allowed into the party below...you can still stop to talk to the gunso if you'd like}}
To ensure the adherence to his edict, Isawa O-washi had intended to hold station upon the aft stairs to the hold, having already barred and sealed the portal on that to the fore. With the recent happenings, however, it was doubly important that he should be the go-between...the peasant members of the Crew needed to know the recent happenings as much as the samurai did and despite his part in Dageki's punishment he rather thought they'd take it better from him than Kaimenko. With the Captain speaking to most of the samurai, that left him.
Tired though he was, the man was young enough to bear up, especially with such news to rouse him.

Crowds of samurai were about the last thing Amaya had any interest in seeing tonight. Being amongst the others was a bit on the somber side, but it was better than the alternative. When the Isawa arrived, she gave him a salute and cocked her head. "Ya needin somethin, O-Isawa-sama?" she said, checking first to make sure something important wasn't up.

"First, I wanted to let you and your fellows know that the privacy I promised Dageki's been confirmed so feel free to drink in relative peace." A smile flashed, then departed. "Most importantly, however, I wanted to pass on what's been learned from the man we rescued from the wreck."

"I can pass that 'long or ya can grab th'others. I doubt they'll mind too much since it's you that's doin't," she said, nodding. "What's all this bout some foreigner bein round here?" Her odd hours didn't help much in keeping abreast of what happened during the daytime, nor did being in the cargo hold for most of the day.

"They found him in the wreck yesterday and he's been out cold in the Bay. He came 'round a few hours ago and spent some time with the Captain...only speaks the language of the Kingdoms, which happily Captain shares. Big things are afoot." A worried frown creased the gunso's brows. "We're going to bypass the Coral Islands entirely and go to the mainland, to a coastal city. Captain's decided we need to gather intel...from the sounds of it, there's a world of trouble brewing here and if we can reach them, they could possibly reach us."

"right. Makes perfect sense... aside from th'fact that it don't," she said, scratching her head and shaking it slowly. "Never seen no gaijin 'fore, nor know how t'talk to em. Still, if there's trouble brewin, scoutin's somethin I understand. It's not th'same as fishin in th'deep, but close 'nuff."

"Glad to see a reasonable reaction out of someone..." Clearly the big man was a bit exasperated with his samurai shipmates. "You and yours may prove useful...less scrupes about mingling. We're hoping for more translators, if it comes to it. Captain'll decide soon enough how involved we'll be."

"Sounds good 'nuff. I'm assumin th'heathens don't worship no proper gods an don't see me's any different than th'samurai. That'll be awkward, but mebbe I'll go 'shore some w'the samurai if that's ok, act like a bodyguard. Hell, I look th'part, an another set of eyes won't hurt, long's Knots' got 'nuff help."

"Should, what with us being at anchor and all. Captain expects us there at least a few days, so the work can keep. He's also going to let folks choose if they go or not, so no reason you have to unless you want."

"Will do. Might's well take advantage," she said, nodding and seeming satisfied by that idea. She hated the idea of being surrounded by foul-smelling heathen monkeys without souls as much as the next person, but who knew? Maybe they'd all be push overs in a fight with solid booze?
"Anythin y'want me... me specific t'check?"

"The gaijin claims several cities were wiped out. See if you can learn if it's true, or if there's any word of war in general." O-washi grimaced. "It's not likely to impact us but we learned otherwise in my homelands recently, we'd be fools to ignore the possibility."

"Sounds like a plan, n I can check a few spots others can't go, see if there's anythin... unusual about," she said, frowning a bit and scratching her chin. "If ya think'f anythin else, feel free t'lemme know."

"Will do. Now, you should go drink to Dageki's life before it's gone. There's damn good drink on offer, I should know 'cause I made it."

"Another grand plan. I'll relay things. Thank ya O-Isawa-sama," she said, saluting him and taking his dismissal as an opportunity to go back and try the good stuff again. She didn't know Dageki well, but why not?
