[Moon 16/D1, LE: Fore Cargo Hold] Finally!

[Shiba Nozomi]

To try and avoid any complications Nozomi had avoided any extraneous uses of water while they had been sailing the darkened waves. But now? She wanted to skip and sing her way to the front of the cargo hold, to where the showers were. The only thing that kept her from doing so was the wish to keep from disturbing the peasants that might be sleeping in the aft part of the area.

Soft murmurs summon enough water to replace that which she would be using. She carefully finds a place to stash her scroll while she sheds her clothes, then begins joyfully scrubbing away uncleanliness with the assistance of the water kami. Moonlight filters down and provides meagre illumination, but it doesn't seem to bother the Shiba at all.

[Iuchi Rinzuki]

The curtain parts as Rinzuki enters the designated athing area, her hair hanging loose around the shoulders of her sleeveless uniform. She starts towards the baths, but pauses as she notices the small Phoenix woman.

"Oh, my apologies, Shiba-sama. I was not aware that the baths were in use."

[Shiba Nozomi]

Absentmindedly, Nozomi waves to the other large bucket that was there. "N-not a problem. I think th-there's actually s-space for another, Iuchi-s-san."

She doesn't take up much space, admittedly, but she moves a little to give more allowance to the other woman. "It's a g-good day for a b-bath, neh?"

[Shiba Naomi]

Having finished her duty for the day, it would be the nice to have the chance to wash away the sea from her hair and body.
She hadn't expected that others had the same idea though.

"Ah, good evening, Iuchi-san, Nozomi-san."

[Shiba Nozomi]

Nozomi glances up. "Ap-apparently we all had the s-same idea. I should b-be done in a m-moment..." She wrings out her hair and twists it into a bun on top of her head.

[Shiba Naomi]

Naomi waved her hands slightly. "Don't worry about it, Nozomi-san. I have patience enough to wait my turn, and you deserve this as much as the rest of us."

[Iuchi Rinzuki]

"Shiba-san, good evening." She looks from one Shiba to the next as she begins to undress. "Ahh...Shiba Naomi, was it? This one is Iuchi Rinzuki."

[Shiba Naomi]

"That'd be me, unless there is another one onboard I haven't heard of," she replied with a simple nod of her head. She came last, so she'd happily wait her turn.

[Iuchi Rinzuki]

"That seems unlikely." Rinzuki grins as she folds her clothes and sets them nearby. It takes only a brief prayer to summon warm water to fill her tub, and she props one leg up on the rim of her tub as she begins to wash herself off.

"Do Shiba women always come in such small packages? The two of you are making me feel like a giant in my own skin."

[Shiba Nozomi]

Nozomi stifles a giggle. "Iie. B-but we rarely g-get as tall as y-you..."

There were some very tall women aboard this ship. It had crossed Nozomi's mind more than once to wonder how they fit into places like their bunks... or through some doors...

[Shiba Naomi]

"Ah..." Naomi chuckled a bit, "no one in my family is particularly tall, except for my oldest brother, but he takes after grandfather, who was favored by the Earth kami, and they said that made him rather big and tall. I'm the shortest one though..."

She nodded in agreement with Nozomi. "The Unicorn seem more blessed with height."

[Iuchi Rinzuki]

"All the gaijin blood, no doubt." *scrub scrub scrub* "Which is a bit strange...I never considered myself to be particularly tall until I set foot on this boat. At least I can still fit into my bed, neh?"

[Shiba Nozomi]

Gaijin blood... ?

Uncertain what to say to that, Nozomi glances at the other Shiba and gives the tiniest of shrugs. "At least."

Her own scrubbing gets a little meticulous around the fingernails.

[Iuchi Rinzuki]

Rinzuki quietly hums to herself as she switches to her other leg.

[Shiba Nozomi]

"Th-this must be a different k-kind of bath than you're u-used to, Iuchi-san..." Going for her final rinse, Nozomi feels immensely better. A moment later, she empties her bucket, and begins smart work of towelling herself off.

[Iuchi Rinzuki]

"And not for the better," she sighs. "It's still better than going without, and at least the company is pleasant."

[Shiba Nozomi]

"I-it can take some g-getting used to..." She makes a small gesture to Naomi that the tub was free now, then begins drying her hair.

"I hope Iuchi-san h-hasn't had too m-much difficulty w-with that, th-though. M-most of the crew s-seem nice en-enough."

[Iuchi Rinzuki]

"For the most part, everyone has been pleasant enough." She frowns as she beings to wash her chest. "Well, the women have been pleasant enough, at least. Most of the men have been rather boorish, though one of the Mantis was rather polite, and there was an interesting Scorpion I met briefly."

[Shiba Nozomi]

Thinking back to her own conversations with the Mantis, Nozomi frowns. "P-polite? Hm... Y-Yoritomo Kaito-san was mostly p-pleasant, but..."

That conversation had ended poorly, so perhaps not the best example.

"The C-captain is very nice. D-did you know his w-wife was a Moto before th-they got married?"

[Iuchi Rinzuki]

"I did," Rinzuki says with a grin. "My last assignment was as an advisor to his brother-in-law."
