The woman examines the damage to the ship with a frown, hand running over the wood in a light caress. She sighs softly and sticks a few nails in her mouth as she picks up one of the planks of wood and starts repairs. It was a patch job, but the best they could do in a foreign port after a freak storm that a bloody tensai summoned. With a force of will, the woman pushes the thought away and focuses on the repairs.
At least it kept her hands busy.

Itsuho had woken up and washed quickly. She had eaten a simple meal before she went up onto the deck. It had been a long night, the waves finally dying down. Itsuho inspected the ship around her, noting many signs of damage. She gave a soft sigh. Only then did she notice the Gunso. She gave a low, slow bow, though having been around the Moshi enough, she knew better than to say anything and disturb the woman.

"What do you want?" comes the blunt question as the woman shifts the nails to one side of her mouth and continues to hammer.

"Orders, Gunso?" Masamichi asks Kaimenko with a bow, coming upon the scene ready to work, observing the damage from the night before.

"Check on the ballista's," she informs the Crane, "But don't take the tarps off."

"Yes, Gunso." he barks in response with another sharp bow, and goes scurrying off to check on the ballista. Getting on his back he gets under each tarp and checks each the best he can by touch and limited light once his eyes adjust. Gently knocking on and wiggling each piece as well to be sure it responds properly.

The Dragon gives a soft shrug. "To observe the damages better in the light. My duty shift is not until later, but I am better helping up here than just sitting down below decks, Moshi-sama."

"And how, by all the Fortunes in the Heavens, is 'observing the damage' going to do us a lick of good," she growls at the Dragon.

Itsuho looked puzzled. "If you have specifics that need fixing, you would tell me Moshi-sama. If I started fixing things without observing, I would likely do a poor job. So I observe first. Sumimasen." She gave a low bow, eyes moving back around the ship.

Kaimenko takes the nails out and drops them in its container. She rises to her feet and crosses her arms with the hammer held tight in her right hand. Her face was dark with a look that didn't bode well for the Dragon as she grates, "You are useless. Not only are you useless, but you are wasting my time. You are not cleared to work on the ship and I'd rather hang my own mother than let you lay even a single board down because you are unskilled. If you think standing around and pointing out what's broken to people who do know what they're doing is helpful, then you're also an idiot on top of being useless."

Is Moshi-sama being mean to that poor Dragon, maybe I should try to... Ooooh, is that a crack... he thinks, tapping heavily listening for a subtle rattle.

The Dragon said nothing, but just gave a bow of her head. "Then, as I said, I will just observe the damages Moshi-sama. It will not help, but neither will me trying to work." She wanders a bit away to practice with her daisho.

Masamichi slides out from under the first ballista, wiping the sweat from his brow before moving to the next and sliding underneath. After letting his eyes adjust to the dark again, he contiunes his makeshift inspection of the covered ballista.

The woman doesn't waste any more time and returns to her work. Her expression was hard and cold as she steadily hammered the nails in to the piece of wood.
