Prayers and Offerings. (Day 6 Early Morning Open)

Dawn found Kaito at the aft railing of his ship several jugs of liquor beside him and two cups on the railing one small and sized for casual drinking and the other large perhaps a proper tea cup. Squinting at the sky for a moment he looked back down at the sea before reaching down and grabbing one of the jugs. Filling both of the cups he placed the jug back on the deck before taking up both cups and beginning to recite a prayer to Suitengu.

After a day of confusion, it was back to work for Hoshi. She wasn't dressed in neither gaijin garbs nor Rokugani finery, opting for her uniform work clothes instead. They seemed fitting with the current climate. She strolled the deck and found the Yoritomo busy with his prayers. If she was out to get him, wouldn't this be an opportune time to catch him off guard? But instead, she idled about and said nothing to disturb him.

If Kaito noticed the scorpion he didn't show it merely completing the prayer before raising the cups in a toast and dumping the larger one into the sea as he drank the smaller one. Placing the cups carefully back on the rail he moved to repeat the process Of filling prayers and drinking. It seemed like he might be at this for a while.

The sails that had been so hastily taken down the day before were spread across a portion of the deck. Nimble fingered heimen were seeing to its mending as scaffolding was secured to the side of the ship. With the storm over and assurances from the Captain that today, at least, would be a good day the regular members of the crew were starting repairs under the Moshi's guidance.

It wasn't ever her turn to be on duty, but she didn't seem the sort to 'wait'.

The sensation that she was being watched...was proven true when she also noticed the Moshi gunso on board. Rather than idle around like a Yoritomo slacker, Hoshi went about helping the crew with their various chores. Maybe Kaito could be inspired to do the same! ...But she would rather put her money on something more likely.

The scorpion was likely right as Kaito continued his rituals at the railing. He had somewhat hoped for some help as taking one drink for every crew member on board (that you wanted to survive) was a rather tough business and having a few people to switch off with would be nice. Such was his fate though and he casually soldiered on hoping he didn't loose count before he was finished.

Kaimenko glances up as the Hoshi approaches, she nods towards one edge of the sails, "Grab a hold... we need to spread this one out 'fore we walk it and chalk the tears."

"Hai gunso." Hoshi said as she was already making her way to lend a hand with the sails, pulling it out with consideration of her surroundings. Wouldn't want anyone tripping on a sail.

The canvas was heavier and more unwieldy than it looked, but the Moshi wrestles with it without a complaint. It took them several minutes to lay it out flat before the shugenja went to a toolbox. She grabs a bit of chalk and tosses it to the Bayushi after calling, "Catch."

Taking her word of warning as generosity from the Moshi, Hoshi reached out and caught the chalk with one hand. She awaited where to draw the tears, giving a glance to the Yoritomo. Perhaps it takes 5 Mantis to change a lamp? One to light it and four to watch the other work?

Kaimenko indicates that Hoshi is to stand two arms length from her. A few of the heimen craftsman move to help as well. "I want you to look right to left. Mark any tears you see."

"Hai gunso." Hoshi repeated in an affirmative, then side stepped from her spot to find any flaws with the sail. While it was supposedly a Scorpion talent, doing it with a sail was an entirely different matter...

"Mm." She murmured once she realized that this wasn't going to be so obvious.
