by Moshi Kaimenko
Kaimenko strolled across the wet deck, her eyes sweeping the night. Her hair was swept in to an untidy ponytail at the base of her neck as she frowns at the dark horizon and lightless sky. After a moment, she hakes her head and clears her throat.
"Alright my little dumplings, heads up and gather around! Captain wants me to make a few announcements so you all don't rile yourselves in to a panic."
The woman's voice carries easily upon the wind, summoning those on duty.

Naomi, having just finished her first round of checking that all was well, was quick to give the Moshi her attention.
Maybe it's about what they found yesterday?

Musasha was there, dripping wet from the rain. His short hair, however, was a boon in such weather, staying out of the way and leaving him able to concentrate on the matter at hand.

Xiao Hua climbed down from the mast, carefully, using the rope to ease his descent. He looked at the gunso attentively.

by Mirumoto Itsuho
Itsuho had been out there since the start of the afternoon on duty, and had been talking since the rain had started. Water ran down over her straw cloak, her hair soaked as she stood there. The Moshi Gunso's announcements just meant she would stay up on deck a little longer than she thought she might.

Where there is rain you will find Water shugenja and Qian-Fan was close enough to clearly hear Kaimenko's call when she made it. He walked lightly across the deck to stand next to Naomi, all his attention on the Moshi gunso.

Kaito arrived on the scene a few moments later not on duty but still soaked nonetheless. Glancing around a moment he waits for the gunso to speak, It was likely about yesterdays events but who knows maybe somebody had talked to the gaijin and figured out what happened.

Much like Itsuho, Junpei had been around the Aftdeck, mostly looking out at the water, peering through the rain with an umbrella keeping as much of him dry as possible. It was not a perfect tool, and the hem of his robes and the ends of his sleeves were sagging and wet with the rain. Turning at the Moshi's proclamation, he made sure to pay attention.

"Right, as most of you know, we found a survivor in the wreck. He woke up this afternoon, told us that his fleet were trying to escape an enemy to send warning up the coast. Seems some poor excuse of a nanny-goat molester has been causing troubles in his homeland. We're going to be docking in Lanka tomorrow to drop him off and see what's up," she announces in that voice that could easily carry across a battlefield.

Itsuho looks thoughtful at the news. She says nothing though, gives no reaction other than a small nod. It was more a statement than a formal announcement or order, so she just waited, mentally preparing herself for what was to come.

Junpei held his breath, not even realizing he'd done so. Closing his eyes he let it out slowly trying to steady his nerves. Thoughts of Kyuden Isawa illuminated by a ominous glow from the north shot through his mind as well as the smell of smoke that had permeated the air after the yobajin invaders tried to destroy the Mori.

"Captain wants you lot to keep an ear and an eye out for trouble," she continues with a stony look, "Lanka's mostly friendly to our people. There's a few who speak Rokugani and even if they don't, I'm sure you scholars of the sea are fair hands at judging moods."

Musasha's thoughts revolved around one single idea, barbarians. He made a warding sign against evil, and decided he would keep his armor on until they reached friendly waters.

Sugita has absolutely no idea why he should care if some gaijin speaks Rokugani. As long as they don't attack and keep to themselves, whatever... Getting disinterested quick.

Nobuyoshi ponders the gunso's words, standing at attention, his mind sifts through the words.
So we're stopping in a gaijin port? I wonder who speaks....Lankanian? Lankanese? Mumbo-jumbo? And what are we expected to do to find out 'What's up?' One thrown spear for yes, two for no? he considers.
