The Asahina sat on the aft deck with a few cups and plates borrowed from the galley. She sits contentedly, offering meal to any who pass by, to include heimin. When two people join her, she calls upon the kami's blessing to create a meal of fresh, hot rice with some sort of seasoning sprinkled on top and a cup of green tea.

Itsuho makes her way out into the twilight of the evening on the aft deck. The ship was still going along at a good pace, but she seemed to have her legs under her a bit better. As she looked around the dim deck, she sniffed. Food was a rare enough smell on the ship, especially outside of the galley. She made her way over toward where she realized there was a woman sitting. Upon closer inspection, she bowed.

"Konbon-wa, Asahina-sama. You are having diner on the deck then? It appears to be quite a bit." She paused as she straightened. "I am known as Mirumoto Itsuho, it is an honor to meet you."

"Good evening Mirumoto-sama," comes the pleasant reply. "I am. It is still hot, if you are interested. The kami granted this bounty just a moment ago," she says, indicating Itsuho is free to sit and preparing to hand her a dish and cup if she accepts.

The long haired woman tilts her head curiously a moment before bowing and sitting. "Arigato, Asahina-sama. I have never ate food from the kami before, so this will be a first for me." She did not reach for any food yet, but looked at the woman. "Sumimasen, but I am not aware that we have met before. Do you have a name, Asahina-sama?"

"Of course, where are my manners," she says through an embarrassed smile while holding Itsuho's food.

"I am Asahina Narumi. I am on medical duty on the ship," she bows her head respectfully and presents the dishes as she raises it.

She gave a bow of her head and a murmur of "Arigato," before she took the food from Narumi. She waited for Narumi to start before she took her own first bite. After a few respectful bites she slowed so she could talk.

"A shugenja then I take it Asahina-sama? I am cleared for medical duty myself, though my main involves work up here on the aft deck."

Zenko braved the evening air of the upper deck this evening. He smells a bit of the oil used to clean daisho and armor, a smell no doubt abundant around the bushi on board.

Conditioning. Surely if I confront myself with it often enough, the fear will lessen? He frowns, glancing at the ocean to see if it was working yet. When gibbering terror was all that answered him, he looked back to the deck and ship proper, taking a step back down the stairs. Nope!

He closes his eyes a moment to steady himself, breathing out, then back in, and then opens them again, stepping back on deck.

"I am," came the reply, with a smile. "And Asahina-san is fine. Have you worked on ships before then?"

Seeing the Usagi pacing on the deck, she calls out to him, "Usagi-san, are you looking for something?"

His lips raise up a little at the corners where they meet. "Oh? No, nothing in particular." He sniffs a bit. "Something smells good!"

"Yes, Mirumoto-sama and I are enjoying a meal granted by the kami. There is enough for one more if you would like to join us," Narumi offers with a smile.

The tall Dragon woman moves to stand, offering a slow bow to the Usagi as the two samurai-ko are approached. She says nothing at the moment, to either samurai, leaving them to their conversation as she eats slowly.

"I am not one to ever put aside that which Inari-kami blesses us with." He gives a bit of a grin. "When da' does that, it doesn't often smell so good though."

He bows to them both. "Mirumoto-sama...if I didn't know any better, I'd take you for one of the Hare." he mentions, good naturedly.

The woman shook her head slowly as the Hare sat. "Iie, I wear the colors I do for personal reasons, not for any reason of clan recognition. It was inadvertent. Sumimasen if it seemed otherwise."

Her quite literal take on the good natured comment was followed by her setting down her food and giving another small bow, this one seated. "I am known as Mirumoto Itsuho, it is an honor to meet you Usagi-sama. As Asahina-san said, please, sit and join us."

He smiles, returning the bow again. "And I, Usagi Zenko, defeater of the palanquin and bearer of the name "Twitchy" upon the fine ship "Half Moon." During the bow he scans the ground briefly, deciding on a place to sit. "An honor to meet you as well."

When the Hare has a seat, Narumi offers him the last serving of the meal, "Here you are Usagi-san."

His smile grows a little wider. "Ah, many thanks Asahina-sama." He nods. "Oh, and thank you again for your help with the stars last night."

He draws his chopsticks from his obi, and taking them in hand, looks ready to eat.

"Please don't mention it. Knowing the stars is my duty as a diviner and I am always glad to share them with others. I was surprised that such knowledge came in handy during training," she says, while taking her chopsticks up once more. She takes a few bites of her rice and a sip of her tea.

The Hare nods, and then bows his head over the rice, somewhat silently saying a prayer of thanks to Inari-kami.

Once done, he straightens and begins eating. When he wasn't chewing, "A diviner? That seems pretty useful on a ship." He seems earnest.

"Many folks like to seek out advice from diviners, but before the lesson I had not suspected my knowledge of the stars would be actually functional for a specific aspect of sailing," she says with a gentle smile.

"Might I ask what Usagi-san and Mirumoto-san did before joining the Imperial Legion," Narumi asked.

The Dragon woman took her time eating, taking small bites as she went along. She set her chopsticks down as she finished her rice. "Before I came onto the Half Moon, I was fighting on the northern front, against the Army of Dark Fire. From one front to another, Asahina-san."
