[Day 2 - Late Morning - Open] Battle Training

His last possible duties stretched out as far as he reasonably could below decks, Zenko peeked above decks a moment, before then walking up outright. His bare feet padded easily along the wooden deck as he made his way towards the Aft deck in preparation for his own kata, and in hopes of further training in the art of ship-based combat. Today he carried no oar, merely his bare hands and an uneasy smile as his eyes slid carefully towards the ocean...just in case the ocean ended up staring back at him.

Arising from below (though not from the sea) a black face with red lines drawn from the eyes and mouth arises. Said face being the mask of a certain Scorpion bushi, however. Over his shoulder he carries a bokken, and he goes to find some space on the aft deck out of the way of the crew so he might stretch, and then begin his own kata practice.

He does acknowledge the Hare's presence, with a small bow, before stretching.

Zenko bows in return, before turning aside and adjusting his placement on the deck a little. Just don't know if there's enough room to go all out...

The Hare taps his foot, looking about for ways to increase the area he could use for the kata.

Not really concerned about the Hare's geometry problems, Nobuyoshi finishes stretching, and launches into his own kata. The style seems based on speed, precision and misdirection. Several times during the kata, the direction of his movements change abruptly and without warning.

Finally happy with the angles, the Hare bursts out into what looks like a completely reckless style, bounding off barrel, mast and rail, all his movement focusing on bringing him back to a central point. In the span of six seconds, the Hare criss-crosses the area of a rough 10' circle at least three times, occasionally in a single bound.

Slowly he begins shifting that central point to different locations within the circle, adding in a number of flips that leave the world a blur, his focus splitting between the direction he was about to travel to, the one he was in and what his body was doing meanwhile.

His hands and feet are his weapons, although the blows against an invisible opponent are not quite sure, nor always accurate. After awhile, he slows, a frown growing on his face. He scans the deck awhile, before finding a bucket.

Incorporating his movement over to it, one foot scoops the bucket up tossing it upwards into the air, and then the Hare picks up speed again, his 'blows' now being used to focus on keeping the bucket in the air while crossing the circle he's made for himself.

Having finished his own kata practice, Nobuyoshi takes awhile to observe the Hare's practice before moving on to the next step of his training for the day. Granted, he had no plans to fight a Hare outside of practice anytime soon, but one could never tell.

The bucket getting a bit of battering, although his connections with it are often of cupped hand and balanced foot designed to lift or push it back higher after stealing its downward momentum with a looping flip over it or otherwise, the Hare continued awhile.
