[Day 1, Early Evening] Stars in Their Multitude

[Yoritomo Uminushi]

Uminushi sat cross-legged on one of the closed rain barrels, watching the sea and the stars as he waited for his erstwhile students. It wasn't one of the mandatory lessons, but one that was open to whoever wanted to show their faces. The man absently scratched at his chest and yawned, still a bit worn from the passage through the Sea of Shadows.

[Hida Musasha]

Musasha heard the captain was running a lesson, and not being on duty or otherwise occupied, he figured an extra lesson wasn't a bad idea. It might not be something he would understand, or ever understand, but you can't grow if you don't try.

He bows deeply as he comes within sight of the captain and takes a place where he won't be in the way of any others that arrive.

[Yoritomo Uminushi]

"Hida-san," came the casual greeting. There was a glimmer of humor in the man's eyes as he continued as informally as he started, "Hear the crew is calling you Ram..."

[Hida Musasha]

He nods, "Hai, Captain. I broke O-washi-gunso's nose during boarding training with my forehead. I apologized both before and after doing so. I apologize if it caused any kind of inconvenience to you, sir."

[Usagi Zenko]

Zenko peeked above deck momentarily at one exit, scanning the night sky quickly. Seeing more than one star, he then looked towards the rail, to make sure the deck between there and here, relative to him, was still there and wasn't covered in water.

His head disappeared a moment, and then reappeared after an intake of breath along with the rest of his body, the whole of which then moved towards the aftdeck, in search of the newest lesson, and its teacher.

Arriving, he bows, staying quiet so as not to disturb any current conversation until invited.

[Hida Musasha]

The big man nods at the Usagi, but continues to wait for the Captain to reprimand him, or not, as was his right.

[Akodo Jishaku]

Since lessons with the Captain counted as duty hours the young Lion was quick to take up the offer and arrived directly from his posting on the foredeck. He was really enjoying the navigation posting and his enthusiam was palpable. "Good evening Captain, Hida-san, Usagi-san." The Captain received a deep bow and the others a light one.

[Daidoji Fuichi]

Fuichi appeared and sat primly and quietly, having left a note down in the sickbay stating where he could be found.

[Yoritomo Uminushi]

Uminushi blinks and laughs, "I'm sure O-washi-san deserved it."

He looks about ready to say more when the scuttling Hare appears on deck. Zenko receives a slightly bemused look for his behavior before the Captain shakes his head. He nods to the Akodo, "Jishaku-san. Why don't you three have a seat on the deck? Clear seas and good wind means we won't be bothered for a bit while we have a chit chat."

[Akodo Jishaku]

"Hai Captain." The Lion smiles and takes the offered seat, giving a light bow to the Crane when he arrived.

[Daidoji Fuichi]

Bow...returned to all and sundry.

[Hida Musasha]

The big man wasn't going to refuse a seat offered by the Captain, so he sits down where suggested. "The seas are certainly much less menacing, sir. Though, I'm not quite ready to walk around without armor until we're a good two days out of the storm."

[Usagi Zenko]

"Akodo-sama." He bows, to the Lion, and then the Daidoji. At the Captain's words, Zenko makes sure his seat lets him watch to keep the ocean from sneaking up on him. "Captain-sama."

[Shiba Nozomi]

Nozomi arrives, her forehead wrinkled into a small frown and bows to everyone before singling out her fellow healer.

Approaching the Crane, she murmurs,"D-Daidoji-san... I think your n-note got wet... All I was able to r-read was Foredeck and this b-bit about later..." She hands him the piece of paper he'd left on the door.

"I w-wrote out a new one, b-but I just wanted to d-double check..."

At this point she realizes there's a lesson going on and sits herself down so as not to be in anyone's view.

[Yoritomo Uminushi]

The big man wasn't going to refuse a seat offered by the Captain, so he sits down where suggested. "The seas are certainly much less menacing, sir. Though, I'm not quite ready to walk around without armor until we're a good two days out of the storm."

"Not a bad thought," he comments with a roguish grin, "Don't let Kaimenko-san's glares stop you. That's how she always is."

Uminushi winks at the Shiba, "Here to join us Shiba-san? I'm sure the lads won't mind your pleasant company."

[Shiba Nozomi]

The dark of both the night and her skin both come to her rescue. Otherwise she would have turned bright pink at being put on the spot. Trying to answer her superior officer clearly, she raises her voice. "Ah... W-what's the lesson, Y-Yoritomo-Captain?"

[Yoritomo Uminushi]

"Just Captain," he corrects gamely before answering the girl's question with that (seemingly) endless store of good-humor. "And an introduction to the basics of navigation."

[Usagi Zenko]

Zenko looks up a bit at that. "Do we need to know how to tell one wave from another?" comes his hopelessly lost question on the subject of navigation at sea.

[Yoritomo Uminushi]

The Usagi gets an amused look as he glances at the up-turned faces around the Hare, "Anyone care to field that question for me?"

[Shiba Nozomi]

"N-Navigation? I suppose s-so..."

She turns her head at the Usagi's question and gives him a small smile. "No, U-usagi-san, not un-unless you're asking them a q-question."
