The moon was out for the first time in what almost seemed an entirety and as night fell over the ship Kaito found himself on deck taking in its light. Bottle in hand he moved over to the side so he could get a proper view without the rear mast inferring and took a seat cracking open the bottle a moment later. After all being out of the sea of shadows deserved a drink or two.

With her duties finally finished for the day, Chihiroko sighed and stood with her hands placed firmly on her hips. "Man, what a day."
She shook her head and spotting the Yoritomo, approached with a bow. "Yoritomo-san."

The Yoritomo flashed a smile and bowed from his seated position. "Evening Moshi-sama." He replied a moment later lifting up the bottle he had just open and giving it a casual shake. "Care to join me?"

"Would I ever." She just smiled and moved to join Kaito. "How has your first day aboard been?" Chihiroko pulled out her sake cup.

Kaito flashed a smile and filled the young ladies cup before taking out his own sake cup and filling it. "Oh not too bad it's nice to get out of that rancid sea for certain. Figured a little celebration was necessary now that we were clear of it." He replied as he took a small sip of the drink savoring the flavor.
"Yourself?"

"Squabbling. Already. Perhaps it's from the foulness given off by our previous location but already altercations. I have a feeling this is going to be one long cruise."
She picked up the cup and raised it in a toastful manner before sipping. "Ahhh. Perfect way to take off the edge of the day."

Squabbling already? Damn.... good thing he hadn't wagered on that. "That 's the truth Moshi-sama." He said as he returned the toast.
"You said you had a bit of a squabble though? Which one's were arguin' if ya don't mind me asking?"

She closed an eye and looked up at the sky as she thought about it. "A Scorpion and a Crane. Bayushi... Nobuyoshi-san and Kakita... Sugita-san. Yes. Those two. Why, might I ask?"

"Curiosity mostly." He replied taking another small sip from his cup. "If there is a pair arguing only a week into a journey like it or not one at least is probably a trouble maker. Like to have an Idea of who it might be."
"Did ya report it to the gunso's? Or was it just a small altercation?"

She nodded knowingly. "Yeah, I've spent a lot of time on ships and you're right. But no, I didn't report it because it didn't go any further than a couple shouts back and forth. Hopefully they'll get their heads about them." Sip, sip.

The other mantis nodded knowingly. "Doesn't sound like it needs to be reported either. Those sort of things usually work themselves out with a lil time after all."
"Though from what I recall of the man Kakita-san can be a little abrasive. Well at least if you aren't used to sailors and the like."

"Yeah, I've seen worse. Lots worse. It takes a special person to be able to tolerate that sort of thing. Hopefully this ship is full of people with decent tolerance levels." She smirked and sipped the sake again. "How much sailing have you done before now?"

"Oh I imagine we'll have a few arguments popping up before long." Too many samurai from different clans all in one place seemed to breed them after all. "As for sailing I spent about 3 and a half years on proper ships."
"Six months on Wits End my original training ship around the time of my gempukku. Followed that up with a berth aboard the Crimson Moon with Ol Captain Saitoshi for a year before I got transferred to the Silver Lark." He finished unsure if the other mantis would even of heard of any of the ships.

At the edge of the aft deck, a peasant paused, looking at the two people. She recognized both as being Mantis, but for the moment simply saluted and moved to another part of the deck. Her gaze was upwards at the sky, attempting to keep out of the way of everyone. She didn't seem inaccessible, but for the moment was not openly coming towards any of the samurai to attempt to engage them. Engaging was risky.

As the Yoritomo spoke of his past employment, Chihiroko grinned and nodded knowingly. "I almost served aboard the Crimson Moon. Long story, though. Of my 18 years, probably 13 have been at sea." Sip, sip.
She acknowledged the other person present with an inclined head.

That would of been interesting though the Moshi may not of liked the crimson moon much when she got there. After all Captain Saotoshi didn't have much time for female crew likely why she never came aboard. "Long time at sea that Moshi-sama. I imagine you went abroad at lot with your folks when you were young?"

"I was actually born on a ship. My mother never was one for putting off her duty for something as petty as child birth." A nostalgic look passed in her eyes. "But yes, I learned everything I know about sailing from my parents. I got my love of the sea from them."

"My own mother was much the same in that account loved the ocean and didn't want to leave it. Though as the number of us children kept on growing she eventually came to terms with raising us on land. Can't be raising a half dozen children on ship after all they just start getting in the way after a time." He replied as he moved to refill his own cup and the ladies if she wished.
"Course now that 3 soon to be 4 of have passed out gempukku I think she will try to find a berth somewhere and get back onto the water."

Chihiroko chuckled light-heartedly at the little story and it made her miss her own folks. "I'm sure you're mother will be glad to get back out to sea. I know I am after spending any amount of time on dry land."
The cup was extended to Kaito. "Land walkers, as I like to call them, seem... different."

He grinned as he refilled the ladies cup. "They certainly seem that way from I have seen of them. That may be because most of em don't know a thing about life on a ship though."
