Whistle While You Work [Day 1, Mid-Afternoon]

[Bayushi Nobuyoshi]

A polite bow to the back of the Kakita. A polite bow to the front of the Yasuki.

Then back to work cleaning the ship. Not particularly a glorious activity, but at least a quiet one, if but for the moment.

Step 1: Get a signed copy of Moshi-gunso prohibition on playing Courtier's Games
Step 2: Attach it to the Kakita's forehead with a kunai.
Step 3: ..... he can at least think to himself.

[Moshi Chihiroko]

"I've only had the varieties available near my temple, so it is likely than anything you might have will be new for me," she replies, cheerfully.

"I'll dig around through my stuff and see what interesting varieties I can find." A simple nod of her head. "How did things go your first day in the Sick Bay?"

[Asahina Narumi]

"It was uneventful. I spent most of the day getting use to the station. I am aiming to be able to navigate it with my eyes closed. Sort of a personal challenge to help the time go by quicker and to improve the quality and efficiency of my work," she replies with a smile.

[Moshi Chihiroko]

She nodded knowingly. "I try to do things like that whenever I'm at sea too. You never know when you may need something in an emergency and don't have time to dig around looking for it."

There was a slight pause. "Does Asahina-san have anything else she likes doing besides puffing away on her kiseru?"

[Asahina Narumi]

"I actually was thinking about that earlier. I'm afraid that I never realized how ill-equipped I am for entertaining myself at sea before today. I enjoyed my duties back at the temple and tending to the local townsfolk that I never took up a hobby. Performing ceremonies, divinations, and caring for the peasants really was the extent of my hobbies," Narumi replied with a smile.

She continues "I've decided on taking up drawing but I don't know if I will enjoy it. I haven't painted for a while and we don't exactly have the materials for it available either, but I did that while I was at Shinden Asahina during my training. I imagine I'd be quite out of practice with that hobby."

[Moshi Chihiroko]

Her eyes lit up and a smile spread from ear to ear. "Well, if Asahina-san likes reading, I brought quite a few books with me too. You're more than welcome to borrow them. As for drawing, not sure I'd be any good at something like that either. Never have been very artistic. Though I have seen some magnificent works by other Crane in my travels. Makes you want to inspire to be something great."

[Asahina Narumi]

"That would be lovely. I appreciate the offer Moshi-sama," the Asahina replies to the Moshi with a smile. "I have to be careful not to split my attention too much though, with all of the training and duties."

[Moshi Chihiroko]

"You'll have more time than you realize. Especially once everyone gets into their routine. Things will mellow out and days will seem to drag on. Nevermind the fact that there seem to be quite a few people on board. Plenty to go around for all the work to be done." Her hands found themselves resting on her hips and she nodded as if to herself.

[Asahina Narumi]

"Really? Hmm, this is my first time at see so gauging such things is difficult for me," she replies. "What sorts of books did you bring along Moshi-sama?"

[Moshi Chihiroko]

"I have a couple books on poetry, a few on heroic tales from across the Empire, historical texts, and some study materials. One can never know enough. My father used to say that all the time."

[Asahina Narumi]

"And it is true," she replied pleasantly. "Though I've not read too many heroic tales. Perhaps that would be a good place to start?"

[Moshi Chihiroko]

"I think I know just the book to bring." She smiled and glanced back to those still working. "But I should probably get back to work now. Don't want others to think I'm shirking my duties."

[Asahina Narumi]

"Of course Moshi-sama," Narumi says with a smile and a bow. "Have a pleasant day." When she rises, she finds her way back to her seat and finishes her tobacco, puffing and enjoying the breeze once more.

[Moshi Chihiroko]

As the Asahina departs, Chihiroko returns to scrubbing the deck of the ship.
