[Day 2 - Mid-Afternoon] Polearm Training with Moshi Kaimenko

[Usagi Zenko]

Zenko's eyes narrow a bit, bringing up the polearm to deflect, as one foot came forward and slid back along the deck, as if drawing a line upon the board, before setting itself back down.

He swatted the first blow aside, waiting then for the next one, pivoting slightly to adjust for the quick and erratic manuevers of the Bayushi. (TN effectively 25, as he's forcing himself not to bound away like the Usagi style requires. (would be 30! ))

[Hida Musasha]

The attack shudders off Musasha's armor, and the Hida lashes out with his own attack.

The Matsu tenses for the attack, but doesn't winces at the sting of the blow. He then thrusts his own 'polearm' forward, hoping for a counterattack.

The stab lands where his solar plexes would be without the armor. It causes Musasha to step backwards, but his own strike comes up from underneath as he does.

Sadly, it takes more training than grip instruction to make one proficient with a weapon. Especially when one's opponent knows where they are going to be struck at. Of course, Moshi-gunso had already expressed her great joy about people who tried to improvise solutions outside of what she said, so it's fairly easy blocks by the Hare, in the given pattern.

[Usagi Zenko]

Zenko nods slightly, concentrating on the lesson and letting the motions become automatic, instead of the result of focused thought.

He's quick. I don't think I'd want to tackle his sword arm in a fair fight.

Iori flashes a small smile at the hit, but is caught surprised by the blow coming from low. He winces slightly at the blow, but gives another fierce smile towards the Hida. He springs forward and puts his weight behind the next strike, and following his sparring partner's example, aims underneath, towards the legs.

With extremely surprising agility, Musasha jumps over the attack, and rolls behind Iori, and waits for another opportunity to attack.

Iori's eyebrow's rise at the maneuver, and there is s split second of wonder and surprise, when his body was perfectly still. Then he swivels around, not perfectly balanced, and brings his 'polearm' to attack. It is rumored that each attack, each strike that a Lion warrior uses and makes is one that has been honed to perfection by his ancestors. This attack disproved the rumor. It was all about strength, ferocity, and blind luck.

[Hida Musasha]

Musasha simply took it, the attack shuddered on his armor, as if Musasha had been of the mountain itself. Then with the Matsu's guard down, the Hida struck with all of his strength. Coming down upon the collar bone of the big Matsu with a loud meaty thunk.

[Matsu Iori]

Iori respected the warrior. And was also quite angry that his blow didn't seem to faze him. For all of 0.71 seconds, the fury of Matsu herself was centered on the Crab. Then reality hit Iori. Or rather, Musasha did. He took the the blow stoically, though there was a slight twitch at the base of his eye.

After the blow, Iori locked eyes with the Hida, and reared his hands, and placed a solid blow mid-thigh.

Musasha was going to feel that for a while, but this was no time to whine. He simply spun, and brought the polearm into Iora's armpit, stopping before connecting.

The Hida didn't feel the need to knock the remaining wind out of the Matsu's sails, and another blow from either man to the other was going to put them on the deck useless for the rest of the day.

"Will you walk with me to sick bay, Matsu-san? I think I, for one, might slip on the stairs if the ship pitches wrong." It was the only way two proud warriors could end a battle without declaring a winner.

[Matsu Iori]

Iori grinned fiercely. The Hida's blow would have surely maimed him, but not before suffering a counter attack. He understood the reasoning behind the words.

"I agree Hida-san. Honestly I am surprised you can still walk with that armor on." He bows towards his opponent, then puts the weapon back in its place.

[Hida Musasha]

He returns his weapon as well, and leads the way to get their bruises looked at.

[Bayushi Nobuyoshi]

Once he completes the number of repetitions demanded by the Moshi, Nobuyoshi prepares himself for the Hare's counter attack. He's still fast, and even without armor, once he's concentrating on defense, he's a very difficult target.

The Hare seems to concentrate more on how he holds the pole as he swings, then in actually hitting the Bayushi, trusting the man to get the blocks up in time.

"Huuuah!" he attempts to step forward each time while there's room for the scorpion not to fall into the Ocean.
