The Noble Sport (D5, Mid-Afternoon OPEN)

[Kitsuki Kotsu]

The Kitsuki, dressed for ship-bard activities in trousers and sleeveless shirt, shakes some water off his wide-brimmed hat. He does not however raise his hand to indicate he has any training the art of unarmed combat.

[Isawa O-Washi]

"Very good. Usually, I'm stuck with a lot of sword-swingers and not much else." He grinned around at them all, though it was a bit forced. "That'll make it a lot easier. Today I wanted to work on throws, they're very useful on a ship as Ram demonstrated for us a few days back. If your opponent goes into the water, he's easy pickings and, at the least, not a worry for you any time soon. We can also cover some of the means of disarming someone if you're barehanded, too, if that seems something you'd prefer. I've learned some interesting tricks for that as well over the years, though it's tricky."

His right hand traced a long scar on the left arm that wrapped into his thumb.

"Still, better a bit of a cut and an unarmed opponent than letting someone cut you in half, eh? Partner up and we'll start...try to pair experienced folks with those less skilled where you can."

[Daidoji Fuichi]

Fuichi nodded and stood so that he faced Sugita, assuming that the Kakita would be about as blase about the partner system as he seemed to be about everything else.

[Kakita Sugita]

He certainly makes no effort to initiate a partnership.

Until the eery silence gets to him. "Alright, who wants a partner?"

[Mirumoto Itsuho]

The Mirumoto, for her own part, looked immediately to the Togashi. She bowed as she approached. "Konnichi-wa, Togashi-sama. Shall we spar, as all Mirumoto and Togashi have before?"

[Togashi Kazuma]

Another Dragon is a welcome sight. I bow to her in response. [color=green}"You honor me, Mirumoto-san. May we both become stronger from it."[/color]

I wonder if Tomoe has noticed another of her family here. Non blood related most likely, but still, Dragon do not venture far from the mountains, let alone the Empire. It is good to seek others of like mind.

[Kitsuki Kotsu]

"I'd be open to such an arrangement, Kakita-san."

[Isawa O-Washi]

"Alright, those of you partnered up, the experienced one of you's going to do the throwing...AFTER you give your partner a brief lesson on the right way to fall. Do it wrong and you can break a bone or badly tear a muscle and that's not the best way to learn, eh?" O-washi smiled and then waved to Fuichi, who seemed left out now that his Clanmate had ignored him. "You can learn from me, Daidoji-san, if you'd like."

[Kakita Sugita]

"OK Then!" Sugita walks straight over to the Dragon. Lots of those around. "How much do you know already?"

[Daidoji Fuichi]

"Alright, those of you partnered up, the experienced one of you's going to do the throwing...AFTER you give your partner a brief lesson on the right way to fall. [Isawa O-Washi]

"Do you know how to fall?" O-washi, priest though he was, was a scrapper and would never assume another priest incapable of the same. Especially when said priest came from a Family known for being rather rough and tumble.

[Daidoji Fuichi]

Fuichi smirked.
"Hai, my older brothers have been beating me up for years, Isawa-sama."

[Isawa O-Washi]

O-washi chuckled. "That's what older siblings are for." Shifting his stance and taking a careful look around to where it would be safe for the man to land, he grinned at him. "Alright then, come at me and get ready for a tumble."

[Daidoji Fuichi]

Fuichi struck with some small skill, though he knew he simply wouldn't be strong enough to hold his own against the ripped Tensai.

[Mirumoto Itsuho]

Itsuho waited on Kazuma, speaking quietly. "I would assume, Togashi-sama, that you are the more experienced of us? I have a passing knowledge, but hardly anything unique or noteworthy,"

[Isawa O-Washi]

The smaller man got a grip on his gunso easily, O-washi after all being practically the size of a small barn. Keeping that grip, however, was far more problematic. With an easy heave, O-washi flipped Fuchi off him and toward the center of the deck, away from the ballista, the rails, and (hopefully) the other combatants.

[Daidoji Fuichi]

Fuichi landed fairly well, using his moment to roll back up into a standing position. He narrowed his eyes slightly at the isawa. "It would seem that I am overmatched."

[Togashi Kazuma]

"Much like you, Mirumoto-san, I'm a student of the blade, but I can lead if you would like, I'm not a stranger to unarmed combat." I saw with a small smile. Not the first to possibly confuse me for a monk, and likely not the last. I see the gunso and Crane and square my shoulders, I explain to the best of my ability, the best way to fall. Luckily, I know how to at least do that. Mountain climbing was a passion of sensei's, and he had me practice on smaller climbs to learn proper footing. I reach out with my hands in an attempt to throw her.
