The Rules Are Simple: Do Something!

You awake in a cold stone room, wrapped in blanket and laying on a tatami mat. There's the smell of sweat and fear in the air, as well as something more metallic in nature.

You're dressed in unfamiliar clothing, and near one of the doors is propped up a bo staff with odd carvings upon it. Somewhere in the distance is the sound of a door being slammed closed accompanied by the rattle of chains.

In the dust on the floor of the room is a single pair of footprints, and then a spot where someone was likely kneeling, near to your side. The stone walls which surround you are flecked with red, and they glimmer from the light given off from a single candle, that rests on a small wooden base which hangs from a trio of ropes tied into hooks imbedded into ceiling.

There are three different doors, the dusty footprints seemingly coming from and returning to the one nearest to the bo staff.

Raising from the Tatami Mat I glance around the room before moving towards the bo staff. Picking it up I examine it closely to make sure that it wasn't constructed from what would formerly be seven individual parts....

The bo staff seems quite heavy...so much so that it proves near impossible to pick up. With a grunt of effort you manage to pick it up.

It seems to be made of one piece of wood...although the weight would suggest otherwise.

Satisfied the the world was not going to threatened by the forces of chaos for the moment. I place the stick down it was far too heavy to use as a weapon anyways and move over towards the candle and attempt to take it from its perch still lit. It would be nice to have so light to take with me.

The light is above your head a little ways. It seems to be in a precarious situation, as if it could easily be knocked from its perch...or perhaps the chains removed from the wooden base?

Deciding unhooking the chains is likely the best way to go about it I deftly try to remove the chains holding the board making sure to keep the candle from falling to the ground if i am successful.

There seems to be about a foot of height between yourself and the wooden board and the length of your arms...

You do remember something about having difficulty throwing things growing up because of it.

With a bitter sigh I look around the room in hopes of finding something to stand on while I wonder if I recall having a good vertical leap

There's the tatami mat and blanket, as well as the heavy bo staff.

Tie the blanket around my shoulders into what certain gaijin call a "cape".

It looks quite splendid on you, matching the clothing you wear according to certain rules of fashion.

Looking so very splendid in my cape and momentarily forgetting about the light I heft the overly heavy bo staff to my shoulder and burst through the door the foot prints lead to. "Lets get dangerous."

The door bursts open to a cacophony of noise as around a hundred small silver bells ring in the new room. Perhaps some sort of alarm?

The new room has a small stool sitting in the middle of it, upside down. It is lighted by the same candle on a wooden block hanging from the ceiling style. A candle snuffer, likely made of iron and darker where the smoke of many snuffed candles mars its finish, hangs from a hook along one wall. There's no other visible door in this room other than the one you came in from.

Take the candle snuffer, giggle at thoughts of naughty uses of it.

It is a candle snuffer. Your hands are now full.
