Considering previous experience of a ??? in a game . . . . I'm worried. ??? had tentacles last time.

Plus my ability to put out fires recedes with every healing spell I cast. Once I'm out of Water and Void slots then I can only start and fan fires >_> <_<

I think we may've lost that combat the moment we stepped below deck. Between being out-numbered even before Jishaku died, the darkness that the enemies seem to have very little trouble fighting in, the damage we took just going down there, and the fact that almost all of us entered the battle already pretty wounded leaving our one shugenja busy patching wounds instead of frying bad guys... yeah. Even if we'd gone down there fresh and with a few more people we would've been at an obvious and potentially overwhelming disadvantage. As is, staying down there's suicide.

I am still wondering if my attack hit. It'd be good if we could wipe out a few of them before pulling back though. Maintain our reputation, y'know?

Technically we are maintaining a reputation, just not one we'd like to maintain

But the badger's right, the only thing you'll gain below decks is a dead character with nothing to really show for it. Not even a cool banner

OOCly, yes. ICly you gain a meaningless and inglorious death. For Jishaku it was different. We didn't know what we were dealing with until after he charged gloriously into battle and got mauled. But the rest of us know that lingering down there is just needlessly tossing one's life away against monsters. And as the Crab will tell you, there's no glory in fighting tainty monsters.

Really? I like to be able to cast three/four additional spells/day, especially when I am designated healer.

It takes up a slot to cast on it's own, so you'd need Void 4 to get 3 extra spells/day, Void 5 for 4 (assuming you're using a Void slot to cast it). Also I wouldn't want to swap out any spells I have on Qian-Fan for it.

Yes, but you don't get Void Points back or anything else that you're allowed 'x many times per day'.

Basically all it does is refresh a shuggies Void Spell Slots and give other targets the equivalent of a night's sleep without any of the mechanical benefits of a night's sleep.

It does. Also, I am not sure I follow Quai-Fan's explanation. Assuming void 3, having spend 2 void slots, you cast RV with your last void slot... recovering all three, no? Aaaah, but casting it DOES take a slot. *cough* nm... >.>
