They are death traps for the horde. You fill a giant piece of jade with 100 crazed murderers with giant metal clubs, the occasionally drop a giant fly in there to see how long it takes to have its wings ripped off.

Since you are so negatively disposed toward them, it begs the question...walks toward you with a finger of jade.
