Day 7: Stage 1 - Boarding

Qian-Fan squinted up at the ship to see the reaction to Sugita's fall. Seeing no likely targets for any of his subtle . . . . errr not completely unsubtle prayers, he remains ducked down waiting for a chance.

[Kakita Sugita]

Dive dive dive! Sugita goes under. Maybe they'll try harder to look for him. Maybe they'll actually throw a rope. Who knows?

There was arguing as the two above held their positions.

"There is nothing!"

"I heard it drop in to the water..."

"Shut up, I can't hear anything over you two! Someone go raise the alarm."

OOC: 4A holds action, 7A goes to raise the alarm.

Mirumoto Tomoe also chooses to be wise and takes a few steps back to hide in the mist.

The remaining Kshatryia moves back as well. He glances over his should and places himself by Qian-Fan, murmuring softly in thickly accented Rokugani, "I will guard you brahmin..."

Itsuho could see the top of the railing ahead of her. It was like climbing a mountain she thought.

Of course, she never was good at climbing mountains. Her hand slipped and she looses her footing, ship slipping away from her.

The trick to stealth missions was that for them to work, no-one could be detected. Just the slightest slip up, a servant entering a room at the wrong time, a midnight tryst between public enemies, the clouds parting revealing you in the full moonlight, any little trick of fate would spell your doom. Noting who was going to be going on this little murder trip, Nobuyoshi had full confidence that any chance of stealth working would require the ship's crew to have been dead for the past few days.

So Nobuyoshi wore his armor tonight, and positioned himself towards the rear of the group. He'd happily let the conscripts and honorable samurai trip the guards and follow them, rather than sneak in first to have them alerted behind him.

A little patience was rewarded with a loud splash followed by the yells of a soaked Crane.

A scorpion who slipped would have held himself under the boat under either the guard gave up or his lungs did. Nobuyoshi thinks while preparing for what was about to be a frontal assault. Still, why not at least pretend to be a glorious rescuer, rather than honorably dead?

There was a shout from somewhere near the gangplank. Someone had been spotted.

Bayushi Hoshi throws caution to the wind and goes up the plank, following in Bayushi Nobuyoshi's shadow.

No more PCs can use the gangplank to board this round.

Sugita spends one more turn beneath the waves.

One of the enemy turns, "Shit! We're needed elsewhere. Move!" and disappears from the side of the railing...

[Mirumoto Tomoe]

Tomoe has a shot at one of those that remain with a standard willowleaf, though the fog makes it quite difficult to aim well (14)

The arrow hit the side of the ship. The remaining curses, but doesn't bother to attack the people on the shore. It wasn't sensible. He, instead, goes to help his fellows. Meanwhile, Amin sticks to the Agasha's side like a burr.

A rope now dangles from the side of the ship.

Itsuho surfaces quickly. Spotting the rope she makes her way over, swimming until she grabs onto it.

Finally noting that all the bushi are onboard, he moved forward at last. Well all but the archer and the gaijin who was altogether too close for Qian-Fan's delicate xenophobic views. The need for stealth pretty much gone, Qian-Fan strode up the plank, eyes searching for targets.

Tomoe joined the Agasha as he made his way up the plank, putting aside her bow so that she could draw her weapons and charging onto the ship

Amin curses silently to himself as the Mirumoto moves ahead of him. Hopefully the Rokugani were better at keeping an eye on their brahmin than they were at climbing ships.
