[Day 4 - Mid-Morning - Baths] I Get to Be Clean! Open

[Usagi Zenko]

Zenko paused a moment, surrounded by something so familiar after all those days at sea.

He breathes in through his nose with some satisfaction, as he moves, betoweled, to the heated indoor soaking area.

For now, he was happy to have the opportunity to clear his mind, before he'd move out to the city in search of the information the Captain wanted. Besides, it wouldn't do to appear to all these gaijins as dirty as he'd been after all those days without bathing.

His skin was still a bit red from all the scrubbing he'd been doing, and only stayed such from the heat of the baths, as he lowered himself into the water.

[Hida Musasha]

Musasha comes in not long after the Hare. He, however, is not betoweled, letting his freshly scrubbed, glowing skin show. Every inch of his body is a bright red from the intensity he scrubbed himself, and as he reaches the soaking area, he stretches for a moment causing, what sounds like, every joint in his body to pop repeatedly.

He steps into the hot water, and lets out an enthusiastic groan as the heat penetrates the tight muscles and soothes away the memory of the filth that had found its new home in a bucket in the next room. "Oi, Twitchy," was quietly muttered as he sighed and relaxed into the water.

[Usagi Zenko]

"Ram." he nods to the much larger man. "You expect any of this to be here?" He shakes his head, his tone conveying possibly that he himself had no thought of it.

"Whole lot of people here. Seems odd they have all those tents set up, instead of having everyone in buildings."

[Ichiro Yakusoku]

Eventually, Yakusoku's desire for a bath had won out over the idea of staying on the boat. Once she was in the scrubbing area, she was certainly thankful. Taking her time the Badger washes herself thoroughly before wrapping in a towel and heading out into the soaking area. At the edge of the water she touches a foot to it and lets out a soft exhale. "Can't believe I almost stayed on the boat," she murmurs, climbing into the water, resting against the side of the bath and setting the towel behind her head as a makeshift pillow.

[Hida Musasha]

The foreign pigs ken keep their shit hovels. "Nope, dinna expect them to have anything, 'cept maybe holes dug in the ground fer them ta keep cool in th' heat." He again sighs, feeling the heat drive into his muscles, relaxing him.

[Usagi Zenko]

"The bath is certainly a nice place, Ichiro-san." Zenko nods, and perhaps all the time around women in chest wraps and dangerously less clad in clothing than was proper Rokugani style has allowed him not to stare lewdly...not to mention all those customs of bath houses back home.

He turns back to the Crab. "Hai...but as they had ships, and seem to have what resembles a city to live in, its weird, isn't it?" He shrugs then. "Suppose maybe the tent people are their eta?"

[Hida Musasha]

"Or their royalty. Who cares?" He seems genuinely disinterested, and adds, "I'd rather know what they consider edible. If it tastes better than rations, I'll eat all of it about now."

[Ichiro Yakusoku]

"They had canons a long time ago," Yakusoku shrugs her shoulders breathing in the steam rising off the water, "not surprised that they'd have themselves a city. Doesn't make'em any less savage." The words were spoken soft and matter-of-factly, the woman having come from a clan known for defending the Empire from the barbarians to the north. "Least we have this though. Don't want to know what they do for bathin'..."

At the mention of food Yakusoku smiles a bit. "A real meal would be nice, wouldn't it? Not sure that we can get that here but hopefully they have somethin' that comes close."

[Usagi Zenko]

Zenko snorts at that. "Hey, as one of your cooks, I don't know if I should be offended." He shakes his head.

"Although, now that you mention it...How does that work here? Think they'll write down our chops? Or will they take our money?"

[Ichiro Yakusoku]

"Probably gonna want money. Wouldn't be surprised if they can exchange it here for... I don't know, shiny rocks or something. Don't have any to give them though so hopefully something can be worked out."

[Hida Musasha]

Musasha nods at the comment from the Ichiro, he then dunks his head under the water, and as he comes back up, "Or barter off something else you own."

[Usagi Zenko]

He nods at that. "Hai, suppose that will work."

He shrugs a bit, "Guess I'll have to go looking then. Getting something nice for the meals on our way out will take some effort. Whole lot of us on the boat."

[Hida Musasha]

Musasha nods, "You jus' gotta remember, Twitchy, I'm used ta plenty of tempura twice a day. The food on th' ship ain't got th' substance I need ta feel my best."

[Ichiro Yakusoku]

"And I can live on a sailor's diet... but it doesn't mean I wanna. Food ain't bad. But Ram's right; it also ain't fillin'."

[Usagi Zenko]

He nods at that. "Will have to see what I can do then." His forehead wrinkles a bit. "I know we have a few fishermen, who're supplementing their meals by going and catching something more to eat."

[Hida Musasha]

Musasha chuckles, "Four fish divided by fifty sailors is...fish stew. Again. I appreciate fish stew, or would, had it not been the contents of every bucket on the ship for the first week we were at sea."

[Usagi Zenko]

He nods at that. "Tempura hmm.."

He sinks a bit deeper into the water in thought.

[Agasha Qian-Fan]

After his briefing with the Captain it had not taken Qian-Fan long to find the embassy and the all important baths. Seeing he wasn't the first to have thought of this brought a small smile to his mouth. His towel was shed at the edge of the bath and he slipped beneath the water with a happy sigh.

"So nice to be civilised again."

[Ichiro Yakusoku]

"Ey Scholar," Yakusoku greets the Phoenix with a quick raise of her hand. "Ever think ya'd be sayin' that in a Gaijin city?" she had to smirk a bit at the irony. Pulling the towel from behind her head the Badger sits up against the bath wall, cupping some water into her hands and dropping it into her hair.

[Hida Musasha]

The battering Ram grunted in agreement.
