A high white-washed wall and a pair of heavy, wooden gates protects the compound and its occupants from prying eyes. Two carved foo-dogs sit protectively on either side of the gate (large enough to admit an elephant) while a guard is posted on the smaller door inside the gate leading in to a broad, paved courtyard.

Here, behind the walls, lies a garden familiar in its tranquil design, if not in plant life. There's a riot of color, flowers blossoming on stems and vines, and shedding their scent in to the air. Fountains and shallow pools take the place of more 'natural' ponds and streams, murmuring softly to themselves. Three two-story building sits in gaijin splendor around the perimeter of the courtyard. Arched windows, with carved screens and stripe-painted sills, look out on the courtyard while a balcony on the second-floor allows for a good view of the garden and the bustling street outside. It looked just like any of its neighbors.

Main Building
The main building, directly facing the gates, houses the Mantis ambassador permanently stationed to this outpost. The layout of the lower floor is left open and spacious with a few screens set up to provide more private meeting spaces. There is also a small library, a tearoom and an office on the first floor. The second floor is reserved for the more high ranking guests of the embassy.

Garrisons
The two buildings flanking the main buildings, to put it bluntly, are garrisons. There are enough small rooms (containing a bunk bed, table, chair, chest, and weapons and armor racks) to house roughly 90 people with two to a room. Unlike most garrisons, there are a few homey touches like rugs and hangings on the wall. Some, occasionally, even sport a flower arrangement.

Baths
A small bath house can be found behind a secluded screen of greenery. Although the exterior is Rhumaal in style, the interior matches the expectations of those who've lived in Rokugan all their lives. There are separate bathing areas, segregated by sex, that lead to a heated indoor soaking area.

Heimen
There are heimen serving in the embassy, there quarters are a hidden away at the back of the compound behind a few trees and consist of a few huts gathered around a central cleared area.
