[Day 7, Late Morning, Open] Bored

[Kakita Sugita]

Sugita laughs. "What about on shore? I have eyes when I'm there too. Your eyes don't wander on leave?"

[Hida Musasha]

Musasha looks around, "Gaijin ain't somethin' I'm willin' ta soil myself with. Woul'na mind a roll wi' th' Ichiro I appose. Most a th' others I'd likely break."

[Kakita Sugita]

"Now we're talkin'!" The beaming smile says the same. "I haven't gotten to know her. Kinda a tomboy. Which can be cute. Wha'dya know 'bout her?"

Sugita already has a bad habit of speaking poorly. The Crane tried to break him of it. This Crab isn't helping much.

[Hida Musasha]

He scratches his nose, "Erm..." After running a hand through his cropped hair, "She's strong, 'n' her arms er almos' as big as mine. Th' way she carries herself in armor says her legs are mos' likely chiseled, too. Her attitude ain't bad, either. Friendly sort."

[Kakita Sugita]

Nod nod. "Friendly, eh? Girl next door sort, or the country sort? Somethin' in between?"

[Hida Musasha]

The big man scratches his nose again, his gears obviously turning ferociously. "Eh, dunno. Na sure what either o' those mean. She seems up ta facin' challenges, 'n' don' talk down ta anyone."

[Kakita Sugita]

"The next door type's always there ta open the door for ya. So to speak. While the country type'll talk ta anyone and chat allll day."

[Hida Musasha]

The big man considers the descriptions, "I don' rightly think I'd like either o' those."

[Kakita Sugita]

Sugita nods again, in understanding. "I like a mix. Opening up the door sometimes is good. Can't argue that. But the country ones, they like cuddlin' and the games. Gotta have a healthy mix."

[Mirumoto Tomoe]

Walking through after breakfast, I came across the two samurai. I didn't recognise one of them. I should introduce myself since it seems we will be here for a while longer.

Walking over I say "good morning, Kakita-san, sama" and bow to each, taking in the larger man's details. "I have not seen you before Hida-sama. Mirumoto Tomoe. Hohei. Now aboard the Half Moon. Pleased to meet you". I bow once again formally and stand, ready to inspect him. They both seem quite relaxed. Even amiable. That's healthy I suppose.

[Hida Musasha]

Musasha looks up at the Dragon, "Oi. They call me Ram on th' ship on account I broke th' gunso's nose wi' my head."

[Kakita Sugita]

"That why? Hah! Very nice. Ya can join us if'n ya want. We was jus' talkin' 'bout women," he says happily.

[Mirumoto Tomoe]

I look at the Crab unamusedly. He has not even bowed. "And your actual name Hida-sama?" I do my best to smile in case he is someone important, though I am aready starting to doubt it. He said he was on the ship? Did he mean the Half Moon or another?. I glance at the Kakita next "was that a joke?" I say, frowning. What was he talking about before. Why what? I don't get it. Some Crane thing?

[Kakita Sugita]

"Honest as a sailor," replies Sugita with hand upon chest.

[Hida Musasha]

The big man scratches his nose, "Erm, yeah." He stands up, "Hida Musasha." He bows appropriately before sitting back down. "I ferget th' Moon's a big boat, 'n' th' ladies don' necessarily see th' men like th' men see each other every night."

[Mirumoto Tomoe]

"Ah, I see Hida-san". He seems to be just another bushi. I dip my head again to him as thanks for his explanation as I mellow to him a little bit after he became a little more formal.

Perhaps he means some women in particular and their personalities? I guess that is okay. As long as we are polite about it. "Who in particular?" I ask innocently. Naively.

[Kakita Sugita]

"Were talkin' about Ichiru-san most recently. But we can ta you if ya'd like," he continues with a grotesquely mischievous smile.

[Hida Musasha]

The muscular Hida sits down and lets the Kakita and Mirumoto speak.

[Mirumoto Tomoe]

"I have not met a Badger" I reply factually. I glance at the Hida as if to say should I have met her already?

[Hida Musasha]

The big man shrugs, "About as tall as a tree, wears about 70 pounds of armor, and sleeps on yer side o' th' crew quarters. Ya can' miss her. Has an axe 'bout as long as my arm."
