[Day 6, Late Afternoon] Once More

[Kakita Sugita]

"Nothing exciting? I might take offense to that!" Judging by his face, he won't. At all. He'll only smile.

[Kaiu Seiko]

Seiko felt that pang again.

Foolishness. Foolishness, foolishness, foolishness!

Unfortunately, cursing mentally wasn't going to help matters.

It also filled her mind instead of giving her something witty or interesting to say. So Seiko kept quiet, at least for the moment, and watched the interplay between Itsuho and Sugita.

[Mirumoto Itsuho]

"I never got bite by a fish, no wave hurled me to the shore, and you never choked on a spine. It was a relaxing swim, and interesting, though danger would have made it more thrilling, ne?" She gave a soft smirk over to the Kakita.

[Kakita Sugita]

"Something like a storm?" he asks, though his eyes go to Seiko.

[Kaiu Seiko]

Seiko was very careful not to react. Very careful.

...

To be safe, she sank under the water for a moment, and then back up.

[Mirumoto Itsuho]

She shook her head slowly. "No, that one storm was quite enough for me. Besides, I'm fairly certain any more storms we get will be of the sort that are a bit more... natural."

[Kakita Sugita]

"Natural? What do you mean?"

[Kaiu Seiko]

This also got Seiko's interest, although she choose to remain silent. After all, Sugita had already asked the very question she was going to ask.

[Mirumoto Itsuho]

Itsuho gave a soft shrug. "That storm came very quick, very strong. I have never really seen its like, have you? Perhaps it is natural enough for the sea, but I am quite used to storms that I can at least anticipate, or that gradually develop."

[Kakita Sugita]

"I dunno. I don't claim to know the whims of Osano-wo. Hurricanes are fast." Clueless.

[Kaiu Seiko]

It is possible, Seiko quietly mused. But that depends on the weather patterns of the area.

Since she didn't know the weather patterns, Seiko elected to see if the Dragon had any other ideas, any clues that might hint as to the nature of yesterday's storms being unusual.

"Mirumoto-san," she said. "Was there anything else about this storm that seemed... different?"

[Mirumoto Itsuho]

Itsuho looked thoughtful a moment before she shrugged again. "I am hardly an expert on weather in such a strange place... other than it's sudden appearance... well, it seemed to leave just as suddenly. But then, perhaps that is normal for sea storms?"

[Kakita Sugita]

"Sometimes, sure. Especially the big fierce ones. They usually don't bother rolling in so much as charging in."

[Kaiu Seiko]

Seiko frowned. Storms closer to Rokugan and the waters nearby were things she could understand. But these waters were different. The patterns were different. She wasn't sure if yesterday's storm was natural or not. Given what had happened yesterday, maybe it was better to think that it had been unnatural.

And that would mean...

She did her best not to look at Sugita. A quick dunk under the water fixed that temptation nicely.

[Kakita Sugita]

Except... When she comes back up. "What? Keep going down for a peek?" Sugita adopts a face of pure curiosity, despite the smile that is trying to force itself free.

[Kaiu Seiko]

Seiko belatedly realized that she had ducked under the water twice now.

Realization struck. Seiko realized that she had about a quarter of a second to come up with a distraction, or she was going to blush furiously.

Putting a hand to her face, she made as if she was wiping away water.

"I... sorry, Kakita-san... I must have missed what you said."

Damn that man!

[Mirumoto Itsuho]

Itsuho gave a small shrug, her head back and eyes closed. "Everyone needs a peek from time to time, though there is not a whole lot to peek at so subtly, no?" She opened an eye, looking up at Sugita.

[Kakita Sugita]

Sugita suck in a breath. "Oohhh... Your tongue has some barbs on it!" And Sugita finds that immensely satisfying. "I was just playin' Kaiu-san. Don't worry about it. Ya haven't done anything inappropriate. Now, inappropriate thoughts? Well, I can't blame ya."

[Kaiu Seiko]

Seiko decided that the surface of the tub of water looked very interesting just then. Yep, yep. Very interesting indeed.

Kami, please don't let me blush! Or at least, not so much that it will be noticed!

[Mirumoto Itsuho]

Itsuho decided to change the topic. Not very subtly either. "I wonder how many are stationed at this embassy at any given time. By the looks of it, the building is not TOO new at least, and it is certainly much more... Rokugani looking than anything around it. It must have been staffed by a member of the Clans for some time, and likely a few."
